For Vets

Do you require medical records before accepting a referral?

We understand that emergencies can interrupt workflow, so a finalised medical record is not necessary to engage our services. We require a medical handover from your team to ours so we know the patient’s current problems & treatment plan in order best plan their care on the road & anticipate complications.

How do you manage payments? Does the veterinary hospital manage this?

We manage all payments directly with clients so you don’t have to. We accept all major credit cards, bank transfers, VetPay, Afterpay, and also help process insurance claims, including GapOnly claim submission.

What is the cost for ambulance transport?

Our costs are modelled around the intervention required & most closely relate to a pet’s level of consciousness & dependence on oxygen. Contact us to discuss your case & receive an estimate for care.

Can you stabilise pets during transport?

Yes - we intentionally stock medications, fluids & equipment to quickly manage shock & are ready to intervene if a patient in our care deteriorates during their journey.

How quickly can you respond to a referral?

Veterinary transports are considered one of our highest priorities in our caseload, so we often respond within an hour of a confirmed ambulance transport request. Travel times to your practice, traffic conditions, & other cases on our worklist can impact our arrival time, but we always provide up-to-date ETAs and keep lines of communication open with your team.

What areas do you service for veterinary referrals?

We are often able to provide transport up to an hour outside Greater Melbourne into the regional towns who often are far from 24-hour hospitals. Contact us to discuss your location & your patient’s situation.

What cases should I call Ready Vet Go about?

We are here to assist pets who either need medical support to move safely between vet hospitals or whose owners may be unable to transport their pet themselves. We are capable of handling even the most severe illnesses, such as pets who are unconscious, intubated or requiring ventilation. Our ambulance is well equipped with the right critical care tools & medications.
